12 is Plenty - A 12 Year US Congressional Service Limit

United States > Government Oversight, Ethics & Reform
396063f5955d55ed925f81440328af9b?d=mm D Scott Pierce

Proposed Oct. 10, 2019

Our congress is not healthy. Too many politicians get in and never leave. This creates many problems including a lack of responsiveness to public opinion, questionable loyalties and corruption, and a general staleness of ideas and talent.

This policy would limit total congressional service in either/both Senate & House to no more than 12 years total. That could be 6 x 2 year terms in the House of Representatives or 2 x 6 year Senate terms, or a combination of both. After that, representatives should move on to find other ways to contribute to our country in either the private enterprise or some other public sector work.
